The 84-storey Baiyoke Tower is an unmissable towering landmark in the Pratunam area of Bangkok. Its skywalk on the 77th floor has large viewing windows and is the best place in the area to get sweeping bird’s-eye views of the skyline. The revolving rooftop observation deck on the 84th floor is where you can gain even higher and more impressive views of the city.

Baiyoke (pronounced 'Bayok') was once Thailand's tallest building at 309 metres and still ranks as one of the tallest buildings in the whole country. Adding the 34.35-metre spire, the building stands at a total of 343.35 metres. Baiyoke Tower is home to an early hotel built in 1998, and has mostly become an attraction and a shopping complex all in one. The area where the tower stands is known for the famous Pratunam market with its thousands of clothing and garment shops.

The Sala Rattanakosin River Hotel has a great bar on the 5th floor from where you have a stunning sunset view of the Wat Arun Temple of Dawn.

Great Sunset at the Belga Rooftop bar on the 32nd floor of the Sofitel Hotel in Bangkok. Bangkok has many skybars and i will make a series of nice options. This is the first one.The Belga Rooftop Bar & Brasserie is located between Sukhumvit Soi 13 and Sukhumvit Soi 15 in Bangkok. It is a great place for a sunset dinner. I went there around 17:45 to catch the sunset. It depends a little bit on the time of the year.

For New Year's Eve 2022 we wanted to do something a little different while also witnessing the fireworks in Bangkok, so we booked a river cruise for two on the Smile Riverside cruise boat. We embarked on our 3-4 hour voyage from the pier at ICONSIAM where we were elegantly taken up and down the iconic Chao Phraya river passing by monuments such as Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), and the Riverfront open-air mall Asiatique. Sky Lane Bicycle Path around the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok is a 23,5 km (14,6 miles) track. Sky Lane opened in December 2015. If you bring your own bicycle, the track is free. To get access to the track, you need to get a SNAP smart wristband. You just need to register with your passport. The wristband is needed to enter the track and you can use it to buy food and drinks. We rented bicycles for 400 THB per bike. The quality of the bicycles is very good. The track is open daily from 06:00 till 21:00. During the pandemic the times might change. Along the road you can see the New Terminal at Suvarnabhumi Airport. To get to Sky Lane, you can take the Airport rail link to Lat Krabang Station and take a taxi from there. It is also know as Happy and Healthy Bike Lane

Ancient City or Muang Boran is an open air museum in Bangkok (Samut Prakan) It is the World's largest privately owned outdoor museum. It's easy to reach by public transport. From Asok its 40 minutes to Kheha and then 5 minutes by taxi. The park has replicas of all the major and important temples and buildings in Thailand. It is shaped in the form of Thailand. We rented a golf cart to get around the park. The golf cart costs 350 THB for the first hour and then 100 THB for extra hours. We booked our tickets with Klook, which gives 50% discount on the entrance. Normally the tickets are 700 THB for foreighners.

Video 2018:

Calypso Cabaret in Bangkok is an entertaining show that takes place every night at Asiatique: The Riverfront. Thailand's katoeys (ladyboys) are some of the most beautiful (and convincing) transvestites in the world, mostly accepted and embraced by a highly tolerant Thai society. 

The ladyboy cabaret show takes place within Warehouse 3, near Asiatique’s town square. Decorated with rainbow neon lights, the auditorium can accommodate up to 350 people per show. Tickets come with a free drink and it's possible to purchase a dinner and show package.

The famous Calypso Cabaret Show of Bangkok is a must see for any tourist. Performed mainly by ladyboys, the show is full of vigour and high energy performances. Also contains a mix of Asian and Western music hits to which dances are choreographed. This video was recorded in November 2019 during my visit to Bangkok. It is recorded by a hand held video camcorder, at Asiatique The Riverfront theatre Bangkok. The recording contains all songs performed on stage.

The Golden Mount or Wat Saket is a man made hill which is 77 meters high. To walk up the Wat Saket you have to climb 344 stairs. I was there around sunset and had great views. It is a must see in Bangkok.

Wat Arun in Bangkok, also known as the Temple of the Dawn, is located on the western side of the Chao Phraya River. Due to its amazingly beautiful architecture and the most iconic location right on the river, a visit is a must-do on every Bangkok trip. Particularly scenic are the approximately 70-meter-high pagodas that characterize the riverside, and which are beautifully lighted at night. Many consider Wat Arun as one of the most beautiful temples in Bangkok and so a visit is highly recommended. The Thai love to dress in their traditional costumes at the temple. Traditional Thai clothing is called chut thai (Thai: ชุดไทย), which literally means 'Thai outfit'. It can be worn by men, women, and children. Chut thai for women usually consists of a pha nung or a pha chung hang, a blouse, and a pha biang. These dresses can be hired from the nearby stalls. This video gives a quick glimpse of the temple and people dressing in traditional Thai costumes.
