Bangkok Chinatown

Chinatown (Yaowarat

Welcome to the Vegetarian Festival 2025 at Bangkok Chinatown (Yaowarat Road) 🇹🇭🌱 In this 4K HDR walking tour, explore Thailand’s most famous J Festival, where the streets of Chinatown transform into a paradise of vegetarian and vegan street foods — from noodles, spring rolls, dumplings, and desserts to spiritual rituals and yellow-flag decorations. This festival celebrates compassion, purification, and Thai-Chinese cultural traditions, attracting both locals and tourists every year.

The Ong Ang Canal in Bangkok opened as a walking street in 2020. It is one of the coolest night market areas in town. I had a look in the early morning and it reminded me of Amsterdam. Known to locals as “Yaowarat”, Chinatown Bangkok goes way beyond a tourist attraction. It is a working Chinatown with two distinct atmospheres. The Chinatown Bangkok market by day and a massive open air food market by night. If you're looking to taste the best street food in Bangkok, then Bangkok Chinatown is the place for you! There's no better place than the world's biggest Chinatown to experience the mix of Thai and Chinese culture

Yaowarat Road is also famous for its Chinese New Year celebration which has always been lively, decored with lights and red Chinese-style lanterns, and packed with visitors as well as street food vendors. There are usually shows and performances throughout the day. Chinese shrines in the area also fill with visitors in red costumes, especially Thai-Chinese people who come to pray for luck and wealth.
