Video Oktober 2022 (Corona):

Khao San Road (Thai: ถนนข้าวสาร) is a small road located about a block from the Chao Phraya River at the northern side of Rattanakosin. Backpackers and budget travellers are drawn here by some of the cheapest accommodation and travel deals in Thailand. This article also deals with the wider Banglamphu area that hosts a few interesting temples, as well as lots more places to stay and eat.

Soi Rambuttri runs parallel to Khao San, but despite being located close by, these 2 streets are different worlds. Rambuttri gives you a taste of how Bangkok used to look before all the skyscrapers arrived. Leafy banyan trees shade the pavements and the vibe sways more towards local than backpacker, despite a number of them now choosing to stay here rather than on the famous street itself.
Rambuttri is Khao San's more attractive, well-behaved brother. The entire horseshoe-shaped road takes around 30 minutes to walk along. This street has a great mix of guesthouses, restaurants, bars and street food stalls. Most of the shops are similar to those you find elsewhere in the area selling the usual T-shirts, books and other tourist trinkets.

This route is on Phra Athit Road where is in Bangkok inner old town in Phra Nakhon district. Phra Athit Road is so close to Khao San Road but so different. Phra Athit Road has many restaurants in shophouses, hotels, hostels and local street foods sell along side of the walkway. And also there are Phra Sumen Fort, located in Santichai Prakan Park on the Chao Phraya River Bank at the end of Phra A-thit Road. It is much more relaxed atmosphere than Khao San Road.

Stunning New Park at the Mahakan Fort in the Old Town of Bangkok. It is part of the Ancient City defense system. Easy to get to with the Canal Boat on your way to the Golden Mount and Khao San Road.
The original Fort was built in 1852, and the city walls used to be 7,2 km long. About 200 meters from Jay Fai Restaurant. At the end a bird decided to poo on my arm, to make me blend in with the city wall :-)

This beautiful temple features a large golden chedi (stupa) atop a man-made hill, offering panoramic views of the city's skyline.
